I am a BIG fan of shorts in the summer. For awhile there, I had a love/hate relationship with shorts. Some were too short and others just weren’t cute! Over the last few months though, I have been experimenting with shorts more and have discovered some amazing outfits!
To showcase my love of shorts, I have collaborated with my blogger friend Addie of All About Addie!! She has the cutest style and some of the most incredible photos on Instagram (if you aren’t already following her you should!). Over the last nearly year of blogging, I have loved meeting fellow creators and I am so excited to finally collaborate with one of my online friends ❤️ Now, keep reading to see how we style our shorts!
Black Mom Shorts and Purple Blouse

To start us off, I had to share this super fun girly outfit! I am obsessed with this blouse because of its huge sleeves. I definitely feel like a princess in this look which is exactly the vibe I’m going for this summer. To add to the girly vibes, I added my favorite sandals. They add some height and are surprisingly comfortable. Now, to avoid a totally girly look I threw on my favorite shorts from Nordstrom. They are from the brand Topshop, my absolute favorite brand ❤️This pair is great for anyone with a little thickness, they protect from chub rub and totally cover the bum. Thats a win win from me!!
Star Print Shorts with Pink Tee
Another great shorts option is a pair of blue shorts! I love this cutoff pair, they have stars embroidered all over them 🤩When looking for short shorts, be sure to find some that are longer in the back so you know you’ll be protected. I hate when my shorts get a little cheeky! Another great way to find some balance is to wear a longer shirt like this one. It contrasts well with the shorts and is going to keep you cool and cute!
Patterned Shorts and Tank
Now for my girl Addie!! For her first look, she went with these super fun floral shorts and a simple tank. Sometimes the best shorts are the focal point of an outfit. The key to letting the shorts shine is to stay casual everywhere else. That way you can wear the shorts from day to night and look fabulous no matter what!

Another fun outfit for shorts is a textured blouse! I love how Addie mixed distressed shorts with a light tee, it’s the perfect combination of masculine and feminine. To stay on trend for summer, look into lighter fabrics and colors! A good neutral will keep you cool AND classic 💖
Black Shorts and Light Sweater
I may have saved the best for last! I am absolutely obsessed with this outfit!!! Lately I have been loving western influences and this outfit is my take on country style. I love the black shorts with a cream colored sweater and printed booties. Although this isn’t the coolest outfit for summer, I think it’s good for a night out with friends or a transitional look for fall. Either way, I’m sure I’ll be wearing this again soon ☺️
