Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Part 1

I am so so excited for the Anniversary sale this year!! Over the last three years, I have actually worked the sale in both women’s clothing and lingerie. Let me tell you I have seen it all 😅 Before I even worked at Nordstrom, I was an avid customer who truly loves to still shop there. Not only are they known for their incredible customer service, but they also provide free shipping and returns as well as overall fantastic clothing.

Earlier today, the e-catalogue was released and it’s time to decide which pieces are best! For the sale, brand new fall items are sold at a discount before going up to full price. How crazy is that?? For card holders, you can shop as early as August 4. Personally, I’ll be shopping the 10th and I will do a full haul for you when I shop!! Now, let’s get into my first picks!

Top Picks

Below, I curated my top finds for the sale!! These are the items that are always on my list and the ones that sell out the quickest! If you don’t already have these pieces, I think this year should be your year to invest ❤️

First we have the famous Spanx leggings. They are so comfortable and go with so many outfits. I personally love them for everyday and actually traveling too! I wore them on my drive to Montana last year and was so comfortable the entire time. They have the comfort and quality of Spanx without fully sucking you in 😝

Next we have a Barefoot Dreams cardigan. I have purchased several of these over my time at Nordstrom and I even talked my mom into buying one for herself. They are buttery soft unlike any fabric I’ve come across. They are also fantastic for fall/winter but are perfect for cool summer nights. If you’ve never purchased them I highly recommend making this year your year!

Another favorite item of mine that I have told several friends to invest in are the moonlight pajamas! They are so soft and perfect for travel. I bring them on all my trips and they are luxurious without the steep price tag. I personally have them in black (like I do with most items) however they also come in a bunch of fun colors too!

Finally we have my true go-to item, the beauty blender. I have purchased a set every year since I started working at Nordstrom!! These sponges are so soft and blend out my foundation like a dream. I also love how this years set comes with a cleaner, it’s too stinking good! Any kind of pack like this is a big winner for me 😊

Outerwear

With fall and winter rapidly approaching, now is the time to stock up on outerwear! I am personally loving blazers, a good puffer, and a medium weight jacket to go with graphic tees and jeans.

One clothing item I’m trying to wear more is blazers!! Now that I am on the hunt for a real job, blazers are quickly becoming essential! Not only are they quickly becoming trendy but they can be styled an infinite number of ways. For a blazer like this, I would wear it with a silky tank for work or a white graphic tee on the weekends. Either way this is going to be a staple!

I am in LOVE with camo!! This jacket in particular has amazing colors and the cut is perfect for everyday. You can wear this with denim or style it over a cute dress. Regardless of what you do, I think camouflage is here to stay and I am 100% on board.

One of my favorite trends of last year was sherpa. It’s so comfortable and it went seamlessly from day to night. I really like this jacket in particular, it looks cozy yet trendy for the upcoming season. Plus, the moto cut is super flattering and will easily become a cold weather staple.

With winter truly around the corner, I am living for a good puffer coat. While this puffer comes in some dark colors, I’m weirdly loving the pewter. It reminds me of a chic tinfoil situation and honestly I support it. Plus Sam Edleman is a fantastic designer so you know this is going to be amazing quality!

One piece that will be amazing for your professional wardrobe is a trench like this! I love the green and textured fabric, it looks so fun and I think you can wear it day to night. The best styling option of course will be a graphic tee and ripped jeans, although this will look equally amazing over a black dress!

Dresses

Lately I have been LOVING long sleeve dresses! I think they are so cute and perfect for any occasion. I also love the animal print, we are definitely not done with cheetah going into the second half of 2020!! Wear this cute dress with sneakers or booties depending on what you have going on.

Although you can’t really tell in the picture, this knit dress comes with a belt! I love flattering basics like this, they allow me to feel so confident and stylish. For a dress like this, you can easily dress it up or down. With fall rapidly approaching, I know I will be frequently reaching for items like this in my wardrobe.

I am forever obsessed with Leith dresses. I used to have their popular bodycon and I really want this knit version! I love how it comes with a slit in the leg as well as the higher neck. It’ll go great with any necklace and you can easily stay warm with a flannel over it or layer over top a graphic tee. I truly can’t get enough of items like this!

Again with the animal print!! I think this dress is so fun and this cut is too good. I like how it goes in at the waist and it looks long enough to feel comfortable all day. I think it will also look great with tights and booties or over the knee boots. To really stay warm in it, layer on top a long jacket and you are set!

Tops

I am truly a sucker for anything Free People, this top included. I also really like the waffle knit and the buttons. I think you can wear this shirt as is over leggings, or tie it up and pair it with some jeans. Either way, it’s such a great fall basic and can take you from the pumpkin patch to dinner with ease!

There is something so fun about this blouse! I absolutely love the pattern and colors, they scream fall and are so stinking chic. For work especially, I think this is going to be a great addition to any professional wardrobe.

One of my favorite items is a bodysuit! I think they go with so many outfits and when they come in simple colors like this one, you can wear them so many ways. I personally would wear this out for a girls night with any high waisted bottom. As the weather gets cooler, this will also pair well with any type of jacket since it isn’t very bulky.

You knew a graphic tee was going to be on this list! I think this design in particular is so fun and romantic. I feel like there is a big shift into feminine pieces this year and while graphic tees can be a bit masculine, you can easily wear this version with a skirt and a cute hair scarf. Truly the possibilities are endless with a tee like this!

I am really loving peasant blouses this summer and I easily see them transition into fall. With jeans instead of shorts, these tops will be so stinking cute. I also think a blouse like this will be adorable with a leather jacket, the contrast of materials will make for a great outfit!

I thought this sweatshirt was too funny not to include!! I am truly an indoor human and I totally see myself wearing a top like this as we continue to lounge at home. To go out of the house, I think this would be cute with shorts or leggings. Also, if you end up traveling this will be a great layering piece to stay warm and cozy!

Denim

Back in the day I had STS Blue jeans and they were fabulous! I love this unique pair in particular, it’s such a fun wash and the distressing will be adorable with a chunky sweater for fall. I also like that they are high waisted, this means you can really wear them with anything. Honestly I refuse to wear any other kind of jean!!

One denim brand I’ve really been loving is Good American!! I have my sights set on a pair for anniversary this year because the discount makes them so affordable. I love how they are made for curves and the denim is insanely soft I just love it! These jeans can go with so much and are going to become a staple for sure.

To me, black skinny jeans are a must-have. I really like this pair from Free People personally! Be sure to grab a size up in these to make sure they fit well and you can style them so many ways. I think they would be cute with any top and jacket combination, they are edgy yet classic for sure. Plus, they are at a great price point!

Finally we have this gorgeous pair of jeans from Madewell!! I absolutely love their denim, it is such great quality and I feel like their washes are too good. I also having been loving more unique denim this year and these pants fit the bill. With a great pair of shoes and a simple top, these jeans will transform any outfit!
