A Single Girls Guide to Valentine's Day

Fun fact about me, I’ve never had a Valentine! I’m going on to year 22 without one and over the years I’ve picked up a thing or two. Now, it’s not easy to see couples all over social media and in real life. Honestly, I would love to have a boyfriend for the holiday but at this point in my life, it’s not happening. Instead, I am focusing on my girls and MYSELF! I believe we are our best romantic when we take time for ourselves. Below, I have some fun ideas for Friday ❣️

For the Foodie

What better way to celebrate Galentine’s and Valentine’s Day than with food!! Some of my friends are celebrating with charcuterie boards and wine, while others like me will be snacking on chocolates 🤣 If you go with a cheese board, try a pecorino! I had it in Italy and fell in love 🤤 (Also, comment down below if you want a series on cheese boards!!) As a foodie myself, I just love cooking and I always celebrate with food! If you want something incredible, use the Instapot for fondue. The clean up process can be messy but it’s worth it for a nice night in! Another great dinner option is turkey burgers, that is what I’ll be making!

For the Couch Potato

I’ve got to be honest, my Valentine’s Day is mainly consisting of dinner at home with my bestie and watching TV! The new show High Fidelity comes out on Netflix and I am totally checking it out 😍During my binge session, I can’t live without a sherpa blanket! It keeps me nice and warm, plus it’s just a cute accessory for my room. For your TV drink (no judgement what that is), I recommend an insulated cup! I keep breaking Starbucks cups and just ordered this one from Amazon. Stay tuned on the vlogs to see how they are working out! Finally, don’t forget to make a snack! I absolutely love this marshmallow popcorn. It’s the perfect combination of sweet and salty!

For the Creative

Growing up, I have always loved artwork and creative endeavors. Over Christmas break, my sister and I painted some canvases and I just loved it! If you are newly single, there is nothing better than some art therapy. Anytime you can paint or color, you get to express yourself and make beauty out of something ugly and challenging. Plus, there is nothing better than a new painting for your place!

For the Party Girl

One of my favorite single girl activities is going out!! I get the girls together, dress up, and hit the town. I love all of these dress options, I think red or pink are perfect for the holiday. This 2 piece set is the best!! If you are more low-key, try a necklace! Regardless, the best way to deal with a tough day is getting glam and having fun. I know time with my girls helps me feel my best, I value my friendships a ton!

For the Beauty Guru

I love self care for Valentine’s Day! My mom sent me a face mask for the holiday and I can’t wait to use it!! Relaxation is so important and a face mask is so good for your skin. I didn’t realize how important these kinds of products are until I actually started using them on a regular basis! Under eye products in particular are incredible; I can’t believe I can get rid of my dark under eyes!! My final love is a good bath bomb, they make baths incredible. I’m particularly partial to lavender scents 😍

Overall, Valentine’s Day is what you make of it. Regardless of my relationship status, I always try to keep busy with my friends! In the past, this has included wine nights, trips to the movies, dinners, and alone time! No matter what you actually do, just do something that makes you feel good. Although Hallmark wants us to see love as an act to another, we also must love ourselves. When we don’t love ourselves, we can’t love others. And in this day in age especially, we all could use a little more love 💕

XOXO,

Lauren
