4 Cute Photoshoot Ideas for Valentine's Day

Valentine’s Day Pictures

With Valentine’s Day rapidly approaching, I had to share some of my favorite picture ideas! This year, I am making it a point to get more creative with my content. As I’m continuing to stay home, photoshoots were becoming a tad repetitive so I’ve been branching out with indoor shots and small props that pack a big punch. If you end up trying these suggestions, tag me on Instagram! I can’t wait to see what you all create 💕

At Home Picnic

I’ve been seeing indoor picnics all over Instagram recently and I decided to try it out for myself! The key is to get a giant blanket and grab some treats. Whether you go with a charcuterie board or a glass of wine, there is no way to mess up this concept.

When actually posing for these shots, be sure to eat the food or goof off to the camera. I always think fun pictures are better over serious photos; they add personality to your feed while still showing your creative side. I think the photo above does a great job of posing with food. It’s a tad bit more serious but you really see the dress and feel like your on the picnic too!

Box of Chocolates

This is one of my all time favorite poses! There is something so fun about about a box of chocolates, you get to snack on your prop while still getting a great picture. I always advocate being your own Valentine and with the current state of the world, we need all the self love we can get. For the chocolate photo to truly shine, I recommend going with a big box and pretend to eat the candy. This way you are truly a making a statement with your content!

Mirror Reflection

I don’t know what it is about a reflection, but there is definitely a dreamy quality to them. Enter this photo I took for a perfume brand! I felt like the sensuality captured Valentine’s Day so well, especially with the pop of pink.

For photos like this, be sure to angle your camera so it is out of the shot and definitely be aware of your surroundings. As I was shooting, I accidentally messed up by having a hand awkwardly in the shot but if you take your time and play around with angles. Before you know it, you’ll have a fabulous shot!

Love Balloon

Finally we have the love balloon picture! I don’t know why this is SO CUTE but I love this shot with my friend Kathryn. Whether you go with a Love balloon or pink hearts, there is something magical about balloons on Instagram. Honestly I find my most popular photographs feature balloons, do with that as you will! As with the other shots, remember to have fun and let the balloons supplement your images, not overpower them.

Happy Blogging

I hope these suggestions helped! I love coming up with content ideas and plan to get more creative as we move into spring. Whether you are purchasing crazy props or something simple, you can’t go wrong with a themed shoot!!

Best,

Lauren
