Attention all small business owners! Going into 2022, now is the time to invest in blog content. Whether you write monthly on your site about trends in your field or post something each week, blogs are a wonderful way to grow your business online. Blogging is such a great way to really educate your audience on what you do and why you do it. Long form content can add so much value to your personal brand and can help attract new clients! You can really go into detail on why you do what you do as well as diversify your brand to feature supplementary content to what you already share. No matter how you talk about your work, it’s a wonderful way to appear to your segment of your target market that enjoys reading and finds value in blogs!

How to Start

The best way to start a blog for your business is by creating a separate blog page on your website for your work. I recommend starting off with searchable topics; 3 ways to wear your product/5 must have items from your shop etc. The easier the items are to search online, the easier time you will rank on search engines like Google or Pinterest! Honestly the best way to write about blog topics is to focus on your consumer. How can you help them in an educational capacity or inspiring capacity in a more in-depth way? Remember, this is your time to branch out of solely working on social media. Now, you can really focus on deep diving into the topics you care about!

Where do you Share?

I think blogs are a great jumping off point for digital marketing! You can get those meaty posts out that can double for short form content. It’s the perfect way to work smarter not harder and you can share and re-share the post to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Pinterest! Whether that means posting once more a photo or blurb, it’s a great way to increase your content production and get all facets of your audience. Remember, different members of your target audience spend time in different places. Some may enjoy pinning things and others may like to sit and read blogs. By appealing to an array of consumers, you are more likely to increase sales with at least one!

What Should you Share?

When writing a blog, you can share a variety of things! On this page, I share mainly fashion and social media content since those are the two main pillars of my brand. If you are a realtor, you can share home trends, house decor, and home maintenance tips. For a clothing brand, consider predicting fashion trends and styling your pieces for your shoppers. You can really get creative here and showcase the biggest parts to your business in one place!

Can you Outsource Blogging?

Of course you can outsource your writing! This is the time for ghost writers or social media managers to shine.
