How To Dress from Winter to Spring 2020
I am one of those people who is OBSESSED with YouTube. I can spend all day watching videos and the other night I was doing just that. I stumbled across the owner of Nomad Boutique and she was at a boutique trade show where she talked about the biggest trends for the upcoming season. I was totally inspired and I want to share with you some of my picks for each trend and how to style them!
Tie Dye
I did not think I would be someone pushing tie dye but here I am!! I think this trend is so cute going into spring and summer, I can already imagine the cute outfits I can make with these pieces! For now, I have gravitated towards sweatshirts, especially since we still are in winter. I love the Target one a ton, it’s perfect for layering and will be amazing come springtime when you need some warmth but not too much. I also like this yellow one, it reminds me of sherbet! Inside, it’s lined with Thread and Supplies famous fuzzy material and it’s incredibly soft! Since it’s still winter, I have been pairing it with jeans and leggings. When the temperatures start to rise, this will be so cute with a denim skirt and sneakers!
Animal Print
I am SO excited for more animal print!! I first found this snakeskin skirt last spring and I have continued to expand my animal collection since. For this wrap skirt, I like to wear it with simple basics to let the skirt really shine. As to the cheetah print (which was gifted), I tend to get a little crazier. I’ve been loving these skirts with a graphic tee or a leather jacket. Heck, sometimes I wear both! Whether you go for a mini or midi, I think animal prints are here to stay and can really add some personality to an otherwise simple outfit.
WILDCARD PICK: Try a colored animal print!! I love this dress dress that can be layered in so many ways. For winter, just add a simple turtleneck underneath. While the basic animal prints are great, this option stands out a bit more and I love the personality of the green in particular!
Graphic Tees
Hello, my name is Lauren Trivison and I am addicted to graphic tees 😅 I could not even tell you how many I actually have at this point but the numbers keep going up! In my defense, the obsession began almost a decade ago with 7-up tees and a Beatles tee all the way from England! I have always loved these tops because they can give a glimpse into a persons personality. I have always loved Classic Rock, so most of my tees are actually band tees. These are the best though because their graphics are INCREDIBLE! I tend to get mine from the mens section of Target in a few sizes up. This way, I can wear them with biker shorts or tie them up with skirts and jeans. I even like to wear them over my body-con dresses! There is nothing better than a nighttime dress getting some daytime use 😝
