How to Dress for Vegas from Day to Night

Every year, Gonzaga goes down to the WCC tournament in Las Vegas. Luckily for the senior class, this trip just so happens to be during our spring break!! We leave the Saturday before the tournament for Vegas and I am SO EXCITED! Last year, I went as a junior which was great, but I wasn’t too close with most people there. This year, I’m going with the people I basically grew up with. I am so excited to cheer on the Zags with the class of 2020!!!

As I’ve been preparing for this trip (and buying some things here and there 😉), I thought it would be helpful to make a post about the outfits I will be packing. I have several daytime and nighttime ideas that will get you from the Strip to the club in no time. Plus, these ideas are budget friendly so you don’t have to worry about blowing all your cash before even getting to Sin City!

Daytime

There is nothing better than a jumpsuit!! I love the pink and white stripes, they kind of remind me of candy 🍭 It even has pocket! For daytime, they are a great one-piece outfit. I love pairing them with platform sandals like I did here, or you can dress them down and throw on a sneaker or a flat sandal. I even think if you added gold accessories and glam makeup, you could wear this at night! When packing, think of bringing items that can transition between day AND night to save room in your suitcase. Also consider light items like this jumpsuit. It won’t take up too much space, meaning more room for shoes!

Tee: Target Shorts: Spanx Sneakers: Nike

I genuinely think no Vegas wardrobe is complete without biker shorts. I am still in shock that Spanx sells a leather pair! When I found these (half off I might add), I knew I needed to take them home with me. On the days in Vegas where you are walking around and spending the day on the strip, go for a comfortable tee and short combo. I love biker shorts because they keep my thighs from sticking together in the heat 😅I also love a good graphic tee! This one is from Target and I recommend getting a mens XL or XXL. The oversized look pairs perfectly with the fitted short. As for shoes, I like to wear my Nike Air Force 1’s or a pair of black Vans. Whichever fit your style better!

Dress: Rebel Rebel Boutique Sneakers: Reebok

Dress: Rebel Rebel Boutique Sneakers: Reebok

I am very partial to a dress and sneaker combination. Any mix of sporty with dressy is my dream outfit! This look in particular is perfect for Vegas because of how comfortable you will be! The dress is great because is it loose and a midi length. I also find the wrap style to be particularly flattering. If you want to cover up a little bit more, add a bralette but I like the deep V myself! If you want the dress, I have 30% off with the code LAURENTRIVISON!! As for the sneakers, I’m in love with Reebok!! I think they are my comfiest shoe. Every time I wear them I think I am walking on little pillows. Together, this outfit will get you from brunch to an afternoon shopping to a little dinner!

Tee: Target Skirt: Madewell Sneakers: Reebok

I wasn’t kidding about the comfy sneakers! I think one good pair of white sneakers is all you will need to pack for this trip. These shoes will get you everywhere and they go with so many outfits! I love wearing these all white Reeboks with casual outfits like this skirt and tee. To stay sporty, I like to use a denim skirt like this one from Madewell. It’s got a little bit of stretch and the frayed hem is perfect for Spring. Completing the look is the fun graphic tee (thats on sale!!). Again, I went up in size and I love the extra fabric over the skirt. This noodle shirt in particular is so fun. Vegas is meant to be a lighthearted place so have fun with your wardrobe!!

For my dressier gals, try a graphic tee with a midi skirt!! I think dressing up for Vegas is perfectly acceptable, gotta look good for the ‘gram! I know I take a million pictures when I’m on vacation and a simple yet chic outfit like this is perfect for any trip. First, this graphic tee is so stinking cute. I love the black graphic over the white tee and since it’s again oversized, I just knotted it in front. On the bottom, I love this midi skirt that has texture and a fun color. I think keeping the look light maintains a cohesive appearance overall. Finally, I’m loving the sandals with the look. While block heels may not be completely practical, they are a sleek touch to the entire outfit. When walking the strip, definitely try to look your best to catch the eye of a promoter. Nighttime

Dress: Fashion Nova Sandals: Steve Madden

Now on to the best part of Vegas, THE PARTY LOOKS!!! This dress I found last year on Fashion Nova and I am still obsessed!! I love making it casual with a graphic tee on top but it’s incredible on its own. Personally, I like to wear body-con dresses out to the clubs. They show off the 🍑 perfectly and this dress in particular is so comfortable! For Vegas, I absolutely love shopping from Fashion Nova. Their dresses are amazing and the price point is SO GOOD! I always see deals on their website and I tend to stock up on a few dresses each time I make an order 😜

Ladies and ladies, this is THE Vegas dress. I found this guy on sale at Nordstrom YEARS ago but I found some similar ones on my LiketoKnow.it. Again, I love these fitted dresses with a simple heel. To bring the outfit to life, I recommend adding in some fun accessories and a big smile. For the nighttime, colored dresses are the best choice. They look great at the clubs and they really pop in the different hotels! If you are going with your girls, definitely try to coordinate your looks and maybe go with a color theme. Remember, you confidence is your best nighttime accessory!

A red dress is the quintessential nighttime dress. I love the tank style and it is VERY low down the front (I honestly might need to sew this a little bit). Again, a bold dress is ideal for Vegas. This Fashion Nova one in particular is a little thicker and feels comfortable even after an In and Out dinner. To keep the classic vibe of this dress, add a pair of black heels! I think the contrast is super sexy and screams nighttime to me.

Okay for my bolder ladies, give a two piece set a try!! I absolutely love this black one, it’s totally my style and so slimming. The little pop of skin in the middle adds to the nighttime vibes and this simple outfit calls for some fun makeup. I will be bringing my Conspiracy palette from Shane Dawson and Jeffree Star, which means I’ll be trying out pink and red eyeshadows 🤪 When going for a set like this, I recommend looking at super high waisted skirts. They are great when you are mixing and matching your outfits outside of Vegas. Honestly, you can use the skirt during the day with a graphic tee and sneakers! Again, shop smart ladies 💕

As Vegas rapidly approaches, I hope these outfits help!! I love getting ready for huge trips and planning out which outfits I’ll be packing. Before you go, just lay out everything you want to pack and take some outfit pictures so you know what you are going to wear. Also, talk to your friends and share these tips! I will honestly be wearing some of my best friends’ outfits alongside my own. Just remember to take a million pictures and HAVE FUN!

XOXO,

Lauren
