Model Off Duty Outfits for Midsize Women

Midsize Model Outfit ideas

This week I had the privilege of doing some modeling for a local magazine! As a midsize woman, I never thought I would get such opportunities. I live in a smaller city and thought modeling was a far off dream but it’s become a reality! With that in mind, I created a few model off duty outfits as well as a look for Valentine’s Day and some activewear outfits for nature walks or the gym. To see these outfits, keep on reading!

Casual Workwear

To kick off the week, I wore a pretty casual outfit for running errands. It was still a bit elevated with my nice green coat and sleek sneakers but the overall look was simple. I kept the outfit dressed down with my favorite boyfriend jeans and a ribbed tank which created the perfect combination of high/low.

Pro tip: do not be afraid of mixing pieces you don’t think would go together. A pair of super distressed jeans may not be the first thought for a nice long coat and nice sneakers but the juxtaposition of these pieces makes for a visually interesting outfit that works well for an array of adventures.

Valentine Outfit

While I don’t really celebrate Valentine’s Day, I do love Galentine’s Day and celebrated with my bestie! We ended up decorating a Valentine gingerbread house and to dress for the occasion, I wore a simple white tank with my new pink slip midi skirt. I really like the smooth texture of this skirt, it goes great with simple tops or it would work with a big sweater or band tee. I also wanted to wear it with my ribbed tank for a bit of a contrast but it was dirty.

Pro tip: if you want to be on trend in 2023, wear pink! Hot pink and baby pink is everywhere right now and adds a great feminine touch to any outfit.

Nature Walk Outfit

Halfway through the week was time for a nature walk. I wore my favorite sherpa quarter zip with a cropped puffer vest and some leggings. I also added some white sneakers and my favorite baseball cap to add interest to this outfit. When wearing a cropped vest, wear something oversized underneath. The key to an outfit like this is proportions and finding a balance between big and small.

On the day of my actual photoshoot, I decided to stick to my true style and wear all black. I really like this combination of black 90s jeans tucked into a sleek pair of cowboy boots and a fitted black tank with a leather jacket. Now, I wish my jacket was a bit more oversized but the overall proportions are pretty good and the mixture of black fabrics makes for an interesting outfit. Of course you could do this with colors or white but there is something effortlessly chic about just black, especially in the winter!

Stylist Outfit

The final outfit was my wardrobe stylist outfit! Not only was I a model for the photoshoot I was a part of, but I also was the stylist. That meant running around the city pulling garments and borrowing a ton of clothes from local boutiques. To go to these boutiques, I made sure to dress up a bit in my nice blue coat, a fun band tee, some dark jeans and my favorite Chelsea boots. When running errands, I always like to dress a bit punchy and wear something a bit exciting because you never know who you will see!

Have a Fashionable week

I hope these outfit ideas helped inspire you this upcoming week. I know picking out outfits can be difficult and it can be challenging deciding on something stylish yet true to your personal style. I personally have been enjoying elevating basic outfits like a graphic tee and jeans with nice accessories. With just a little bit of personality, you can get a great look that is unique to you!
