Midsize Friendly Outfits for Summer

The heat and summer has finally hit western Washington! With temperatures rising, my hem lines have gone up too and I’ve been experimenting with my warm weather outfit ideas. Since we had rain and muggy weather the last few weeks, its been a bit of a challenge to decide on what to wear but I think I finally came up with some cute looks. If you have struggled with summer style, this post is for you!

Fashion Blues Outfit

Starting the week off strong I have a fun all blue outfit! Oftentimes I shy away from monochromatic looks but they can be such a fun way to look put together while remaining creative. Now, the reason why this outfit works is the oversized shacket. Its rather lightweight and pairs nicely with the patchwork denim. With looks like this, I recommend adding simple, neutral accessories like white shoes to tone down all of the color. In my opinion its a bit more accessible for every day and has a bit more personality!

Boilersuit Babe Outfit

I had been meaning to get a boiler suit for the last couple of years. At the time I did not work for myself and never saw a reason to wear one but I didn’t realize at the time just how versatile they really were! I wore mine a few times now, once on a trip to Portland and now out to dinner with an old friend. This time around since I was going somewhere nicer, I spiced up the one piece with platform sandals and a tan bag. You could even get crazy and add colorful accessories!

Summer Neutrals Outfit

This outfit was inspired by some outfits I had been seeing on TikTok and Pinterest. I got the knit tank awhile back and hadn’t worn it much so I figured better late than never. To complete the light neutral vibes, I added some shorts I also hadn’t worn much and I loved how this look turned out. Granted it did remind me a bit of someone going on a safari, but it was a fun reminder to shop my closet and to not be afraid of trying something new. Especially as a midsize creator who feels like she isn’t really represented online!

Wedding Guest Bliss Outfit

As I headed into the weekend, I had my first wedding in over 20 years! I wore this fun blue mini dress from Amazon that had a fun tie detail on the back. To keep the focus on the dress, I added clear block heels. If you have an outdoor wedding like I did, be sure to wear a chunkier heel in the grass to avoid getting yourself stuck. Also, to top off the look, I added a simple pink handbag with a gold chain. The color blocking added just enough personality to the look that I felt like myself while remaining appropriate for the event.

Swimsuit Styling Outfit

My final outfit is perfect for the beach! For the weekend, my sister and I went to the ocean and I decided to wear a white one piece swimsuit with some shorts. I like swimsuits that look like bodysuits when I’m in beach towns because they easily go from water to shops without looking like you showed up wearing something inappropriate. Just be sure to wear sunscreen, life is too short to deal with sun burns from being outside!

End of June Outfits of the Week

I hope this week of outfits inspires you to have fun with your summer wardrobe! I think extreme weather can be hard to dress for, especially when you have various commitments! Remember to try and keep things as simple as you can and less is usually more. For summer 2022, wear what you feel confident in and don’t forget to shop your own closet. You may find some gems that you forgot about!

Until next time,

Lauren
