Work Inspired Outfits of the Week

End of January outfits of the week

This week of outfits was very work focused! I had a lot of engagements between networking events to business openings I was helping to cover. While I’m not the best at dressing professional since I do not have a corporate job, I still like to look nice when I’m out on the town so the following outfits are just how I do it!

Errands outfit

Okay our first outfit is a bit on the casual side since I was out running errands. As a self employed person, I enjoy doing my grocery shopping during the week because it’s a whole lot quieter and easier to find just what I need. On this particular day, I went with something comfortable and easy to move in. Hence the cute sherpa sweatshirt styled with wide leg jeans and a casual pair of sneakers. I could have gone even crazier and added a vest or baseball cap but simplicity is never a bad thing.

Elevated Activewear

Would you believe me if I told you this top is actually a workout top? I love how fitted it is and the bust line is perfection in this shirt. To make it appropriate for the car shop compared to the gym, I added some distressed jeans and a leather vest. You could also add booties and a big coat if that is more your style. Either way this is your reminder to dress up your activewear this week!

Networking Outfit

Toward the end of the week I had a networking event downtown so it was time to dress up a bit. I like adding a nice long coat to business casual attire, it elevates the look even more and can be a great conversation starter at events like this. Underneath the coat I opted for a tank and blazer but a blouse or sweater would have worked well too.

Statement coat outfit

I’m telling you, winter is the time for statement coats! I adore this green one in particular, it elevates even the most simplistic outfit. On this day I had a soft opening to cover for social media so I went with a very basic white tee and vintage wash jeans. To elevate this classic style, I added some printed booties and the green coat! I felt professional without being overdressed and far from my personal style.

Layered Cocktail Outfit

To round off the week I wore a warm version of cocktail attire. I was spending the evening volunteering at a non-profit event that had the aforementioned dress code. Since it was freezing outside, I wasn’t about to just wear a little dress so I decided to elevate the look with over the knee boots and a black turtleneck bodysuit. Truth be told this is a bit outside of my usual style but I really love how it turned out. You can never go wrong with fitted basics, they can do so much for so many outfits!

Have a Stylish Week

I hope these outfits help you in a variety of situations! I know getting dressed can be challenging, especially at this time of year when it’s still chilly and there are so many random things to do. I’ll be honest I even had some difficulties coming up with outfits this week but I’m really proud of how these outfits came together. The key really is to have a wardrobe of basics intermixed with a few statement pieces. You can mix and match a ton in this case and look fashionable without too much thought!
