Celebrating my 23rd Birthday During COVID
23rd Birthday
In terms of crazy birthdays, this one takes the (cup)cake! I never would have pictured entering a new year of life in the midst of a global pandemic AND wildfires. Initially, I was hoping to visit Nashville, TN with my bestie but flying is truly out of the question. I then was hoping to go kayaking but the various fires on the west coast have smoked us all out. Thus, we ended up at a small wine tasting and just having a great little girls day!
Daytime Adventure
To kick off the day, I went and picked up a birthday Starbucks drink. They are free with the app and I went for my usual venti iced caramel macchiato. It’s a fairly pricey drink but perfect for a celebratory treat! When I got back from my coffee adventure, my bestie Amanda came into town and we may have had a few Smirnoff Screwdrivers 🥴 I’m 23 it’s very much legal now! Once we were properly lit, we made our way to Meconis, the best local sandwich shop. I absolutely love their turkey sandwich, it’s fresh and better than any sandwich chain!
Stottle Winery Tasting
Once we ate lunch, we made our way to a local winery. I had the best time trying their flight of white wines and the tastiest dessert option! I almost bought a bottle it was that good. Although they didn’t grow the grapes nearby, they do press their own wines and the gal working was super kind. While I may be no sommelier, I did have a great time sampling the different drinks!
Oyster House Dinner

After our drinks, we made our way back to my house to change and get ready for dinner! I chose Oyster House and had the best halibut and chips. Nothing beats supporting local restaurants and it was nice to have a family dinner out!! To make the evening a little more special, I told everyone to dress up and I wore my favorite little Amazon dress. I try to be as dressy as I can while I can, the opportunities are far and few between these days!
Here’s to 23!
While this was not the birthday I had planned, it was honestly perfect. All of my friends were so sweet and made the day incredibly special! Everyone from high school and college reached out and I honestly felt so loved. I can’t wait to see what this year has in store, it’s going to be a fun one 💓
