3 Must-See Things at the Washington State Fair

What to See at the Puyallup Fair

It’s time to do the Puyallup! Growing up, I would go to the fair off and on with my family and I loved exploring the attractions and of course going on rides. As I’ve grown up, I have developed a deep love of their food and the roller coasters. If you plan to visit soon, keep on reading to see some of my top highlights!

One: Ride the Wooden Roller Coaster

If you visit the Washington State Fair, you need to visit the rides! I am partial to the wooden roller coaster, it was created by one of the original American engineers and its one of 20 left operating in the United States. At nearly 100 years old, this coaster is still quite fast and great for thrill seekers. Just be sure to budget time for it, the line can get quite long even on a week day.

Two: Stop and See the Animals

Do they not look like the queen in a rain jacket??

I had the best time visiting the animals around the fair! I was partial to the sheep that looked like the late queen Elizabeth but there were a wide array of critters that were on show the day I went. If you have time, try to also visit the neighboring garden center too, it’s a fun way to see giant vegetables and it completes the farm vibes in my opinion!

Three: Character Cotton Candy

Finally when you go to the fair you must get a character cotton candy. The stand is ran by a cute older couple and their cotton candy creations are second to none. They are so delicious and something I think about during the fairs off season. Now, this dessert is a little pricey at $12 a pop but they are so photogenic and delicious that I find them worth it.
