A Day Trip to Little Norway
A Day in Poulsbo, Washington
This past weekend, I was lucky enough to visit Poulsbo, Washington for a day trip with my parents. I’ve never been to “Little Norway" as it’s known but I am so glad I went! If you are a Washington native, I would say it’s akin to Leavenworth but more water focused. For anyone looking to get away without hopping on a plane, this place is for you!
Shoot at the Murals
When we first arrived, we quickly fell in love with the giant murals around the town. This viking mural in particular really encapsulated the energy of this place and was featured right on the main drag. It was also connected to a lovely chocolate shop that I will elaborate on later. When stopping through touristy towns like this one, I say take all the photos you can. Murals are a great way to capture both your outfit and a cool piece of artwork! Dare I say this will make a great Instagram post?
Eat at JJ’s Fish House
After wandering around town for a bit, we stopped for lunch at the adorable JJ’s Fish House. I personally got the halibut and chips with a raspberry iced tea and it was phenomenal! The fish didn’t feel heavy and the chips were perfectly fried. When visiting cute towns like Poulsbo, you must support the local restaurants and try as much food as possible! Everything has character and local eateries are just the best.
Stroll Along the Boardwalk
One of my favorite things to look at when out walking is water! I am a sucker for a good stream or waterfall or just the sound as seen here! I’m sure by summertime they will have some events down here too, but on a nice day this place is perfect for a walk or just watching the boats go by. Either way, I vote it’s a must do for Poulsbo!
Flower Truck
One of our last stops was a random find after our stroll! I love any vintage car and this one was so fun and nostalgic. If you’re ever out traveling, be sure to stop and shoot at any cute place you find. Just smile and have fun if you’re ever worried about people passing by. For my fellow creators in particular, this is a part of the job so let’s do it!
Boehm Chocolates
Finally the last stop of the day was Boehm and their chocolate! I had a few incredible chocolate truffles, including this fabulous Irish Cream option. I also just love anything dessert related and this was my ideal treat after a fairly filling lunch. They also had a delightful ice cream bar that was a bit too big for me. If you’re ever in town, you won’t want to miss this!
Safe Travels
I hope this post inspired your next local getaway! For my fellow Washingtonians, this is truly a spot to check out. I think the Olympic Peninsula is so cute and any time for travel is a good time.
Now, stay tuned for my big April adventure! You won’t want to miss that post. Subscribe to my email list or follow on Instagram for the latest!
Best,
Lauren
