Best Photoshoot Locations in Olympia WA for Spring
Spring Photoshoot Locations in Olympia
Hello! I’m Lauren Trivison, an Olympia Washington native. I was born and raised here in the state capital and with spring already here, I thought it was time to update my favorite spots to take photos in town. Having worked in content creation here for nearly 3 years, I have figured out the best spots for pictures. Whether you are a local or just visiting, I hope these locations help your next photoshoot!
Rainbow Rails Olympia
The first stop on any Olympia tour is the rainbow railroad tracks located under the 5th Avenue bridge. Thankfully the area is safer for tourists to explore so do not worry about the former homeless population. This spot is a bit hidden from the main road so be prepared to do a tiny bit of walking. It will be worth it though for the colorful views!
Pro tip, wear a simple outfit when shooting here. I went with a mainly white outfit so the colors of the tracks could really pop in the pictures! Speaking of outfits, shop my look here.
Priest Point Park
Another favorite location in my Olympia roster is Priest Point Park and the Samarkand Rose Garden. The day I was out shooting there was a party at the garden portion so I shot this image near the park. Either way, it’s a great place to get some greenery in your content which is quintessential for spring and Washington overall. If you enjoy nature walks, there are also trails here so it’s honestly a two in one spot!
Pro tip, if you visit in springtime, consider leaning into a more feminine aesthetic. I loved wearing a simple floral dress for this photoshoot and playing with the sunshine. For this outfit, shop the link here.
Heritage Park
A local favorite is Heritage Park or Capital Lake in downtown Olympia! Located at the heart of the city, you cannot take a photo down here without popping by. I personally love the trails and the trees right now in the springtime. Everything is blossoming and it feels almost magical.
Pro tip: for a spectacular photo, try and dress up! I loved wearing this creamy dress with white boots and a denim jacket. You’ll definitely stand out from the crowd in this look but isn’t that the point sometimes? To shop, click the link here!
Tivoli Fountain Entrance
My final destination in Olympia is the cherry blossom avenue at the State Capital campus. Located just north of the Tivoli fountain, at the end of March and start of April the most beautiful cherry blossoms begin to bloom. If possible, go in the afternoon to capture the trail of trees close to Capital Boulevard. I find this location to be the prettiest and filled with the greatest number of trees.
Pro tip: Go in March for full trees and early April to see the blossoms fall. Depending on your aesthetic you win either way! For an outfit, click the link here to shop what I wore.
