3 Midsize St Patrick's Day Outfits

Midsize Friendly St Patrick’s Day Outfits

What to wear for St Patrick’s Day can be such a tough decision, you want to be festive in green yet you want to look and feel confident. While the actual holiday is Tuesday, I know a lot of us will be celebrating Saturday at the bars with friends! With that in mind, let’s create 3 easy outfits for this Irish party that will make you feel amazing. As a bonus, these are all size 10/12 friendly outfits so if you’re midsize you’re in luck.

For a Sporty St Patrick’s Day

Is there still frost where I live? Absolutely there is. Am I keeping myself from wearing shorts though? Absolutely not! I love a good short and sweatshirt combo especially this time of year. If you have sporty plans or you just need something comfortable and casual, this is a great combo. The key is to go oversized on top and smaller on bottom. You’ll get balance in the outfit and the statement sweatshirt will keep you from getting pinched! Bonus points if it’s a lighter green which is always great this time of year.

For an Elevated St Patrick’s Day

I cannot recommend a good green sweater enough. It was a piece that was not in my closet until this winter and I’m glad I snagged this oversized one. I love their sweater dresses so a shorter knit was a definite need for me. If you’re planning to go for Irish coffees and want to look a bit more polished, consider styling your sweater with a trendy lace and satin short. This mixed texture look is so chic and could be easily elevated by boots or more casual with a brown or black loafer. I wore this last weekend to an event and networking meeting and I felt cute all day long!

Pro Tip: Remember balance is key in an outfit like this. Try a big and baggy knit against something short and tight. It will make for a more unique outfit plus it’s more cohesive on your person when you wear contrasting shapes. I may recreate this outfit for my own event this weekend!

For a Cozy St Patrick’s Day

Finally if you want something easy and cozy, I can’t recommend a knit set enough. These are always trending because they are comfortable, take zero effort and always look polished. I got this set years ago from Amazon and love how easily I can mix and match the cardigan and pants. If you want, take the cardigan and style with a pair of baggy jeans and a loafer. Or if you work from home, try the pants with a basic bodysuit and your favorite blue light glasses.

Pro Tip: By shopping sets, you get multiple outfits in one. Of course you can wear the combo together but you can just as easily mix and match with other items in your closet. I recommend going bold for sets as they can be a statement on their own or a statement separately. I love how this one is a chunky knit and a bolder color instead of black or beige. It’s the little elements that will always make the biggest impact!

Happy St Patrick’s Day!

Comment below and let me know what your plans are this year! I am super excited to go out with friends new and old this weekend at a cool social club in my city. As a 4th generation Irishwoman, I am so proud of my heritage and roots. My last name should’ve been Coyle so you know the Irish runs deep. I also hope this outfits inspire you this spring and are something you can wear throughout the month as we head into warmer weather!

Until next time,

Lauren
