Spring Event Outfit Ideas

Outfits of the Week from the end of April 2023

This week was a super special one, I hosted my first two events! While I forgot to get outfit pictures from my first event with Gals Need Pals here in Spokane, I did get photos at my special 75 K party to celebrate the growth of my Instagram page! Both events were incredible and allowed me to really experiment with my own fashion and personal style. This year I finally feel like I’m back on my grind as a midsize woman and I can only anticipate further success in the following months! Now, to see my midsize friendly outfits, keep on reading.

Neutral Dinner Outfit

To kick off the week I had a birthday dinner for a dear friend and with the newfound nice weather in Spokane, it was time to wear a mini skirt! I’ve had this one from Amazon for quite awhile now and it’s a great wardrobe basic in my opinion. To make it springtime appropriate, I styled it with my favorite cowboy boots and a simple bodysuit. I like to keep things fitted with outfits like this because you can easily layer a big jacket and add fun boots to make it an entire look. Remember that any successful outfit features balance so don’t be afraid to combine your bigger pieces with smaller ones.

White Jumpsuit Outfit

This look oddly enough would be great for a bride to be! It’s an all-white jumpsuit with a lace corset underneath for a hint of texture. I think this styling choice would work best on a jumpsuit with a zipper but I did the best I could with this buttoned option from Pistola. Alongside this jumpsuit I added some simple brown heels from Amazon and my favorite Gucci handbag. If you want to wear all white, try opting for brown and tan accessories. They make the outfit look less harsh and it’s overall softer for the warmer weather.

Shorts and Tank Outfit

So Spokane completely skipped over spring so now it’s time to dress for summer! It’s been quite the heatwave so shorts and tanks have been a godsend. I’ve really been loving this pair of shorts in particular from Abercrombie, they are super comfortable and the cross waist is different from most shorts I own. Plus they’re pretty easy to style a million ways and if you’re wearing an outfit like this out and about, I recommend throwing this button down over top. It’s perfect for air conditioning and just looks great whether its properly worn or tied around your waist!

Pink Glitter Dress

Did I mention I had a special event over the weekend? For this exciting occasion I wore this new dress from NanaMac Boutique and I am officially obsessed. It’s the perfect shade of pink and it’s incredibly sparkly, you can’t go wrong! I like how it has a strapless design plus a sticky layer on top to hold the shirt portion up. I didn’t feel like I had to adjust the dress the whole event and it was comfortable enough to eat a lot in. To give it a Lauren flair, I styled it with my favorite cowboy boots and an oversized jean jacket. The party was at 9:30 in the morning so this layered look was perfect. May have been a little too warm by the end of the event though!

Mini Golf Outfit

Our final outfit of the week was this cute mini golfing look from Abercrombie. My best friend and I are actually wearing the same dress in two different colors, it’s incredibly comfortable and the perfect workout piece. Oh, and did I mention that it has built in shorts? To keep myself warm as the temperatures started to dip at night, I layered my dress with a simple workout zip up from Abercrombie’s YPB collection. Their activewear is so darn good and they are the workout pieces I wear the most maybe second to Lululemon these days. Speaking of Lululemon, I completed the outfit with my crossbody from there. It’s a great spring and summer bag that travels well. Plus it’s small and comfortable to wear while working out!

Midsize Fashion Ideas for Spring

I hope this post helps to inspire your spring wardrobe! It can be such a challenge trying to figure out special occasion looks this season as ultra thin bodies are becoming the norm once more. If you’re a bit midsized like me, remember to wear what you feel comfortable in and it’s okay to try new styles that may show off all the curves. I personally like to play around with layering and camouflage to make an outfit my own. Until next time,
