Top 5 Stores to Shop for Midsize Friendly Outfits

5 fashion stores for midsize women

Fellow midsize girls, ever wonder which stores are best to shop at? I know it can be difficult to find outfits that suit our bodies but some of my favorite stores are finally becoming more inclusive! While we have a long way to go in terms of equity in fashion sizing, the following stores are showing a lot of promise. Honestly I think you’ll love them just as much as I have!

Nordstrom

A fun fact about me is I have been obsessed with Nordstrom for well over a decade now! I grew up going to the store during the holidays as a kid and as I grew up I knew I wanted to work there. Fast forward to college where I worked in just about every women’s department from lingerie to juniors to dresses! I almost became a manager however life had other plans. Regardless, I am so thankful for my time at the store, it taught me so much about fashion. Plus in the 6 years since I started working there, they have done a pretty good job at size inclusivity!

Now, some of my favorite Nordstrom products have been my Spanx faux leather leggings, my Blank NYC faux leather jacket, my moonlight pajamas and so many more goodies. With Nordstrom’s own brands in particular, most pieces go up to a XXL in straight sizing and there are a plethora of plus options as well. The nice thing about shopping at Nordstrom is the great quality of garments and the wide variety of pieces sold. Oh, and they have free shipping on anything you order so that keeps me coming back year after year!

Abercrombie

Now, I know Abercrombie can be a touchy subject for many but it’s a fantastic store now! Their sizes are super inclusive, the quality is incredible and if your personal style is anything like mine, you will appreciate their vast array of neutral garments. I highly recommend their bodysuits and basic tops for work or everyday wear, they are incredibly versatile and go with so much.

If you want to get the top Abercrombie product, let me introduce you to their denim. Their jeans are incredibly comfortable and their curve love line in particular are next level. As a midsize girl with a thinner waist but thick hips and thighs, these jeans are MADE for me! Each pair fits like a glove and I appreciate it immensely.

Lululemon

I feel like midsize activewear is an underrepresented topic, I personally love my workout clothes and live in my Lululemon pieces. Now, this is another pricier brand but again the quality is unlike anything I’ve felt at other stores. While they have not been the most size inclusive during the entirety of the brands history, they have started expanding their size range in recent years. Fortunately, the pieces also run rather large. I personally size down to an 8 so they don’t roll down and it’s perfect for me. If I can influence you to get anything, get the align leggings. They are incredibly comfortable and go with a whole host of outfits! They also feel like butter, it’s changed my life for the better to be honest.

H&M

Heading into the budget friendly size of midsize fashion is H&M. I have adored a whole host of pieces from them this year, from outerwear to denim they have it all. They also have some curvy lines and are becoming more size inclusive in recent years! I also find their items to run rather true to size and the quality isn’t too bad for the price.

Another perk of H&M is their neutral style and their overall northern European aesthetic. It’s been rather trendy and their simple basics are a great way to get the look for less on any body. Plus, their pieces are honestly garments I reach for season after season and they have been lasting beautifully.

Amazon

Finally we have one of my all time favorite stores, Amazon! I absolutely adore the wide array of garments they carry and the prices are just too good. Nowadays they are even getting better at expanding their sizes with sellers and the quality is slowly improving with products. I personally have loved them for dupes this year because you can really get anything from that site. Whether you have a special occasion and need a one off garment or you are looking to test a trend, Amazon is the place to go!

Happy Shopping

I hope these store recommendations are helpful when deciding where to get midsize clothing! I know being a size 10-14 can be difficult but there are still options for us. Whether you are a trendier gal or more of an activewear person, I hope these stores inspire your wardrobe!

Until next time,
