Weekend Getaway to Seaside Oregon

Last Minute Travel

Last weekend, I went on a VERY last minute trip to Seaside, OR. In most circumstances, I plan out my trips pretty far in advance and love to really prepare for them. This time around, I was invited last minute and while I was rather anxious at first changing the rest of the weeks plans, it was SO worth it. There is nothing better than some time on the beach with friends 💓 To see what I did, keep reading!

Day One

On the first day, my bestie and I drove down from Olympia, WA. The car ride was almost 3 hours and went by rather quickly. The scenery in southern WA and northern OR is gorgeous and makes for a peaceful ride. Once we made it, we got to our rental home for the weekend and met up with my friends family. If you want a relaxed experience in the town, be sure to stay outside a hotel. It was still close to the water and had a full kitchen which we used to make all our meals! In the backyard, there was even a hot tub and a BBQ that we used for burgers on the last night.

Since our place was only a few blocks from the beach, we were able to spend part of the evening outside. In Oregon, you can make fires in the sand and we did just that! It was the perfect way to start my trip and we had a great time listening to music and dancing the night away. Truly there is nothing better than a night in the sand with your friends.

Day Two

Not going to lie, the first morning was a little tiring due to a late night before! However the day quickly picked itself up and went swimmingly. First, we went back to the beach and spent the afternoon relaxing in the sand. A few hours in, we went to Sea Star Gelato and oh my goodness it was incredible. I tried the stracciatella and birthday cake flavors which were amazing! It truly reminded me of living in Italy where I would sit and eat gelato almost every day.

After the dessert break, we went back to the beach and wandered through the waves. Unfortunately, after our walk my friends family took our beach chairs and shoes without telling us that they left!! We had to walk home barefoot and it was not ideal 😂 We did walk into dinner though and were able to relax for a few.

Once our break was over, we then headed to the arcade and had an absolute blast. We first played the rolling bingo and I actually won one round! It was somewhat challenging but a great way to end the day. We then went to the actual arcade and played a ton of games. The best game was a Wizard of Oz coin toss; may have spent too much money on it but SO worth it. Once we played for a good hour, we went back to the house and hit the hay to prepare for our final day.

Day Three

Nothing better than brunch!

Nothing better than brunch!

For our last day, we started off with brunch!! A Seaside staple is PigN’ Pancake, it’s so so good! I can’t recommend the eggs Benedict enough, they are just too delicious. I genuinely ate every last bite of my meal, it was incredible!

After we ate, we made a quick pitstop to Ter Har’s where we got matching anklets! It was the cutest women’s boutique but was a little more expensive than I anticipated. The brands they carried were nice but were in the $40-70 range; higher than I wanted to pay that day!

Finally, we made our way down to the beach and wandered around once more! Of course we made our way to the ocean and I even did a little photoshoot! Once the pictures were taken, we played some bocci ball and relaxed. Truthfully, I am not one to love getting dirty and hanging out in the sand but I actually had the best time. I even got a bit of a tan from being outside for so long!

After some time on the beach, we made our way once more to the gelato shop. This time around I tried the best vanilla of my life and a great cheesecake flavor. It was so nice to just sit and eat with my friend! I truly find no greater joy in life than traveling and eating.

Once we had our treat, we went back to the house and soon had dinner! We then got ready for the night and headed back into town. This time around, we walked the main street and tried some Portland Fudge treats. I got the best chocolate covered marshmallows with caramel! It was the perfect way to end the trip before a final bonfire. That evening, we headed back to the beach and had some s’mores before driving home the next morning ☀️

Best,

Lauren
